Can anyone lend me a kilt?

Hmm, a bit of a tricky problem here.

Shameless publicity seekers that we are, I've just been speaking to The Press, the local newspaper in York. They're interested in writing about our effort, which would of course be excellent. But, newspapers being what they are, and local newspapers being what they are, we need to produce an entertaining photograph to illustrate it. The upshot is that I've got until early next week to find a kilt that fits me. Preferably a very cheap one.

And then I need to wear it.

For a photograph.

In a newspaper.

Can anyone help?

Sorry mate, I'm having trouble of thinking of any Scotsmen in York at the moment... You could try asking in Moss Bros on Stonegate though - you never know...

Thanks! I did indeed try Moss Bros and was quoted £79, which I don't have. However, I've emailed the PR department of their head office to see if they'd donate one! So, fingers crossed there...

If nothing comes through by the end of Friday I'll be resorting to making one at the weekend, I think.

I'm bored at work (as you might have guessed) so I had a look around for kilts in York. Apparently York City FC borrowed a kilt of Festival of Fun this time last year - it might be worth a look...

Unfortunately that's about all I could find :(

That's excellent news! We'll get onto them tomorrow. Perhaps the sewing machine will be spared after all...
